چکیده

The extensive use of glyphosate (N-(phosphonomethyl) glycine) herbicide in agriculture is accompanied by the risk environmental contamination aquatic ecosystems. In this study, effects at different concentrations (50–500 µg ml-1) on three Chlorella species including ellipsoidea, sorokiniana and vulgaris especially relation to biomass, pigment contents photosynthetic efficiency were assessed. After treatment for 24 hr, acute toxicity results showed that C. (IC50 = 449.34 ± 6.20 was more tolerant than ellipsoidea 288.23 23.53 174.28 0.50 ml-1). a 72-hr chronic with glyphosate, decreased 400–500 ml-1 200–300 200–500 respectively. During 24-hr exposure maximum quantum photosystem II (Fv/Fm) as concentration increased. Overall, presented high positive correlation. It worthwhile mention our study provides detailed information sensitivity these glyphosate.

Vasculitic Neuropathy Following Exposure to a Glyphosate-based Herbicide

We herein report a case of peripheral neuropathy following exposure to large amounts of glyphosate-based herbicide. A 70-year-old man suffered from pain and purpura in the left sole following exposure to glyphosate-based herbicide. Pain and purpura spread to the opposite side and increased in severity. Mild weakness of the lower limbs was also observed. A sural nerve biopsy revealed the infiltr...

study of aluminum toxicity on photosynthetic pigment, soluble sugars and proline contents in two sunflower varieties

abstract   aluminum is one of the most important heavy metals which not only can be easily absorbed by roots, but it also damages its normal function and blocks absorption of water and nutrients. according to this fact that sunflower has been widely used in industry, this study investigates the effects of aluminum toxicity on biochemical factors in two sunflower varieties including sirena (tole...

Cortisol Response in Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus L., Following Acute Exposure to a Glyphosate-based Herbicide

Glyphosate-based herbicides are widely used in agricultural fields and are commonly applied in fish ponds to control algae and plant growth. Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus L., fingerlings exposed to the highest sublethal concentrations of glyphosate alone experienced an increase in cortisol levels that was similar to the value found in the stressed group. In contrast, fingerlings exposed t...

Toxicity and effects of a glyphosate-based herbicide on the Neotropical fish Prochilodus lineatus.

The toxicity of Roundup, a glyphosate-based herbicide widely used in agriculture, was determined for the Neotropical fish Prochilodus lineatus. The 96 h-LC(50) of Roundup was 13.69 mg L(-1), indicating that this fish is more sensitive to Roundup than rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar). These differences should be considered when establishing criteria for water...

Bacterial responses to environmental herbicide pollutants (glyphosate and paraquat)

The toxic effect of herbicides on non- target microorganisms may influence degradation of organic matter resulting in changes to nutrient cycling. In the present study, different strains of bacteria incubated in media containing different concentrations of glyphosate and paraquat were assessed over a period of two incubation terms. The deleterious impact of the herbicide was observed as glyphos...
